First time shaping a surfboard, how did it go?
Everyone that has shaped a surfboard, had to shape a first. These usually aren't pretty, and mine was worse. I actually had the privilage of shaping the worst board in history. I first had to use my dad's tools in 1998 and his garage, I decided to make a surfboard on my parents coffee table in the middle of their garage. The only thing my dad said was, do not make a mess and do not screw up his tools. So there I was in the garage, with a coffee table, block plane, sand paper, hand saw, and my dads prized hitachi electric planer. What could go wrong, well I broke the nose of the surfboard, ran over the cord to the electric planer, covered the garage with a flamable foam dust, and oh yea I caught the surfboard and foam on fire. To make things better, I airbrushed the surfboard green, in the drive way, by all of my family's cars. So that was my first surfboard, I will post a picture of it some time.
