Palos Verdes HighSchool Surfboard Shaping Class, PV High, shape a board
Hey as we go, just ask questions and I will answer them, and remember there really are things such as stupid questions, but I will answer them anyways.
Hey the shop address is 1366 coil ave wilmington ca. 310 503 0281 We are just off of pch, south of the 110 freeway, and north of the 710 freeway. Take pch to coil ave and turn away from the ocean/harbor
When you are templating your surfboard, measure the surfboards lenght, mark it off where your boards length will be, nose and tail. Then go about half way through the surfboard and mark it, this is where you will determine how wide your surfboard will be. Then measure one foot from you nose tip and tail tip, and from the foot mark, measure your nose width and tail width. You will basically connect the dots with a template or many templates. Visually look over your board, check for radical curves and straight spots, go over those and smooth them over with a pencil before you cut out the surfboard. When you cut the surfboard out, use a hand saw, keep it straigh up and down, and cut about 1/8 of a inch outsid of the line. Good luck you all, and ask questions if your not sure of anything.
